Bottle [as "Eiken Weizen"> @ home. Hazy orange color, medium sized off-white head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma and flavor both have a distinct wood and light smoke touch to it. I get wheat, yeast and a fruitpeel-ish sour-bitter a little later. Average body, thin but fizzy carbonation. Meh, don’t like it.

Batch 3. Hazy deep amber colour with an orange hue, small foamy off-white head, disappears quickly, no lacing. Smoky nose, bacon, burnt wood. Taste flat and watery, light sweet and bitter, light malt, wood. Woody and watery aftertaste, pinch of pepper, light body, watery texture, flat carbonation, not good. Gone bad?

30 cl bottle @ home. Golden color, hazy. A bit frothy white head, with reasonable retention. Aroma’s: wheat, fruity, light roasted, light vegetal. Retronasal there’s more to it: light sweet, wheat fruity, light bitter, just hints of oaky tannines and light alcohol. Flavor is light sweet, fruity, just slightly bitter. Alcohol doesn’t feel very strong, but it is warming a bit. Light to medium bodied. Finishes with a light bitterness. The port/wood is hardly noticeable, but the beer is decent enough.
