ABV: 6.7%. Clear medium orange yellow colour with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, moderate yeasty, barnyard, leather, farmyard, apple - grape - citrus, wood , funk. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, barnyard, leather, farmyard, funky, citrus - grapes - apple, light vinegar. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. Quite a dark golden colour with a head that fizzes out quickly. Aroma has crisp sour apple, wood and a little funk. The taste has a fairly mellow tartness. Seems like there's a lot background sweetness from the barrels, certainly some vanilla. Hint of sherry too. Gentle and well balanced

Pours a semi-deep, almost perfectly transparent, light orange, with a large bubbled champagne-like head that disappears almost istantly. Quite murky on secod pour. Aroma is averagely intense and not especially complex: citric (tangerine, lemon) notes, perhaps a hint of green apple, light funkiness, some background vinous character. Taste notes as per aroma: good enough intensity, not much depth. Sourness is mainly citric, with slight lactic hints; there's also some kind of fatty vinous background that kinda reminds of lambrusco wine if you know what it is. Overall average sourness per style. As the aroma suggested, funkiness is very much in check. Despite limited funky complexity, the beer doesn't feel too clean. I know a gueuze is not supposed to be perfectly clean, but this one feels like kind of not too polished. Medium body, medium or slightly above medium carbonation; feels fuller than style average in mouthfeel. The beer was overall enjoyable and easily drinkable, but i wasn't impressed. Didn't feel very refined. Surprised with the very good ratings.

Clear gold with a rich white head. A very soft caramel funk up front. Tart and some light wood and caramel funk. Mellow and easy.

375ml bottle, online from Trembling Madness. Pours misty orange with a white to beige cap. Aroma: lactic, green apple, lemon, oak, light funk. Taste: light tartness/acidity, bone dry, earthy, funky apples, lemon, oak. Medium body with foamy carbonation. If this is their first geuze then I look forward to trying more.

‘t Schrijvershuisje/Hengstdijk. Hazy golden, white head. Sour grains, citrus, horseblanket, grapes, minerals. Juicy and tasty, typical and close to the more known OG’s. Medium sour, salty touch. Medium body, average carb.
