On keg at the Guildford Arms. Appearance - dark amber to red. Nice suds on top. Nose - strawberry going into rhubarb. Taste - strawberry jam, light caramel. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a finish that could be fresher. Overall - if this is a red ipa then unfortunately the hops are missing in action somewhat.

Clear 500ml bottle (BBD Aug 17) into an Abbot Ale pint glass tankard at home on 7th Jan 2017. Looked good, nice red hue to the body and a full beige head that hung around. More malty than hoppy, semi-sweet with some berry like flavours. I wonder why Shepherd Neame hide their name and calm it’s brewed in "The Faversham Steam Brewery"?

50cl bottle from Morrisons, Bracknell. An attractive reddish copper pour with a thick beige head; nutty malt aroma; quite lively in the mouth with a good balance between the caramel malts and the leafy bitterness of the hops; then some light spice and pepper leading to a sweet earthy finish. Not bad!

500ml bottle from Tesco - Deep russet colour, white head, didn’t last too long. Notes of mild citrus in the nose, very malt heavy though, especially in the taste. This is as far from an IPA as possible, but still not too bad.
