This Extra Pale Ale is an assertive blend of US hops. Through aromas of pine, a tomahawk hit of soft ripe & tropical fruit explodes on the palate.

Can from Lidl Supermarket, Todmorden. Dry bittered pale ale, pale golden in colour with a slight haze and a small head. Not the best aroma.

500ml can. Poured a slightly hazy light golden colour with a thin white head. The aroma is malt, light citrus, light woody hops. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a light, crisp, light watery, woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nice can, but a very average beer.

Can from Sainsburys. Appearance - pale yellow golden. Snow white head. Nose - lemon curd and caramel. Taste - more lemon curd. Light burnt biscuit. Palate - close to medium bodied. Sweet middle and finish. Overall - too sweet for the style, really.

500ml can; BBE Dec 2021. Drank at home on 13th Aug 2020. Slight haze to the golden body, decent white crown on top. Nose had both esters of pine and citrus fruits, taste just citrusy, pines had gone somewhere else to play. Light bitterness towards the finish.

Can from Lidl. Clear gold, small frothy white head which leaves some lacing. Aroma of pine, flora and citrus. Taste is a little bitter and dry from the off and seems to hide some of the notes from the aroma but the pine and citrus do come through a little with a grainy note. Body is fine, the carbonation slightly spritzy rather than soft which doesn't quite work. Its fine but I wont be buying again.
