Keg at the Cask, Pimlico, 13/01/14. Clear golden with a white head that soon collapses to a swirl and edgeing. Nose is clean and fresh, mountain springs, light citrus, cereals, straw, bread dough. Taste comprises orange, lemon rind, straw, light malt, hoppy backnotes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation with light spritz, clean and grassy closure. Nice work, fresh easy drinking and ultimately refreshing pils.

Keg at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Pours clear yellow, lightly effervescent with a fluffy white head. Dry biscuits in the nose with hints of grass and hay. Light sweet flavor with crunchy cereal, bitter grain husks. Light bodied with average carbonation. Moderately dry to finish with more grains, very dry biscuits, grassy and husky bitterness. Good if a touch overly bitter at times.

On Keg at Coach and Horses, Dronfield - Can’t believe it’s took nearly three months for me to become the first on here to try a Bayern! As you’d expect with a lager type, it is clear yellow, with an effervescent body that create a very long and lasting white head. It is far too fizzy for my palate, but it holds all the right notes with a grassy aroma, with a tangy citric taste. All in all, it isn’t that bad, and works well for a session - as in tonight’s Sheffield FC Xmas Bash!
