Combining a traditionally brewed hefeweizen with enough grapefruit to meet your five-a-day requirements from one* pint.

Bottle from A Hoppy Place, Windsor. Aroma = zesty grapefruit with the addition of cloves. Cloudy copper-orange. Very thing translucent white head. Heavy sour - a metric buttload of mouth-puckering grapefruit. Some herbs. The feintest trace of underlying sweetness in the finish. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat carbonation. Uber astringent and dry finish. Down as a Hefe but really this is a fruit beer. Not doing it for me, just way too grapefruit. It's not zesty so much as overkill.

Draft at Trekkers, Chesham. Poured a slightly hazy golden straw colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head and plenty of bubbles. The aroma is malt, yeasty, biscuit, big grapefruit. The flavour is moderate sour, with a light, grainy, super tart grapefruit palate. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. A bit one dimensional, but a beer that certainly grabs your attention.
