Our modern version of the classic porter style. This beer is very dark yet deceivingly delicate on the palate with roasted grains, berry fruits and a hint of smoke lending complexity.

Malts: Maris Otter, Brown, Chocolate, Roasted Barley
Hops: Brambling X, HNB, Goldings

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours dark brown with a good long-lasting tan head, tight bubbles. Aromas of chocolate, coffee, liquorice, cherries, touch of peat-smoke. Awesome. Taste delivers a roasty bitterness, light sweetness, and merest hint of boozy indulgence. Full bodied, creamy texture, long, long finish. Seriously good beer.

I try this beer in the house of ratebeer master chriso during his many wonders pre-GBBF tasting. For the event I travel to London in England, land of queens and Pippa where people drink many cups of tea and like eat the fish with french fries. This beer is dark brown like the skin of well-sunned sexy ladies. Very sweet flavor with much chocolate. Some earthy bitterness remind me of pretty ladies giving me no hanky, no panky. I enjoy this beer but I drink only small portion because in my presence were many other ratebeer men including big ticker Danish men. Thanks we had many other beers so altogether I made good boost. Bottle at chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013 - London. Pours clear brown with a frothy tan head. Sugary bread on the nose, dark toast, chocolate. Medium to heavy sweet flavor with milk chocolate, rich bread, low bitterness. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Somewhat creamy. Sweet on the finish with dark chocolate, bread and light dirt. Good.

33cl bottle. Almost black, thin head. Boozy, dark fruity, sweet aroma. Flavor is very sweet, barley wine style with berries and malt. Boozy. Did not find much roastyness or chocolate in it. Did not like this beer. Infected?

Bottle at home (thanks to a trade with Craig Garvie) 15/12/12. Pours a very dark mahogony brown with a tan head that soon dissipates to a pond and veers to the edge of the glass. Nose comprises roast malts, rich dark toffee, dark fruits, touch of chocolate. Tastes of toffee fudge, prunes, dates, light cocoa, comlex dark fruit flavours, a little booze but well integrated for 9%. Full bodied with soft carbonation, smooth on the palate, fruity finish. Decent tackle this badger !

33 cl bottle vintage 2011 @ home, no BBE info
Aroma feels really British with toffee, some honey, smoke and cocoa. Flavour is salty with honey, some English toffee, chocolate and some herbs. A bit thin for this ABV. Not the most typical Porter.

0,33 flaske hjemført av og delt med bryggerkollega Ovesen, 2011-årg.: en supert porter med 9% vitamininnhold som varmer. Lakris, lakris, solbær, mørk sjokolade. Mmmm....

330ml bottle. Clear dark brown, minimally red glowing colour with small, frothy to creamy, minimally lacing, off-white head. Minimally roasty dark malty aroma with notes of dark berries and a fresh, decent minty and minimally salty background. Taste is distinctly fruity, lots of red and dark berries, has a tart as well as a minimal smokey touch, some leather, hints of chocolate. Very rich in taste.

Bottle: Deep ruby-amber coloured, clear, mid-sized - slowly collapsing - off-white lacy head, roasty and nutty nose, dark fruity malt underneath; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied; lingering bitter-nutty finish. Very good...

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, dark brown colour with a ruby shine and a short tanned foamy head. Moderately roasted malty aroma with earthy notes, molasses, accompanied by hints of chocolate, liquorice and marzipan. Sweet and mildly roasty bitter flavour, full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Roasted malt upfront, again with a sugary touch/molasses, some earthy notes, chocolate, liquorice and even a vaguely fruity hoppy touch; sweet and mildly roast-bitter finish with notes of French chocolate truffes and hints of alcohol in the aftertaste. Perhaps a tad too sweet. 27.VI.12

Bottled 330ml (BZ, vintage 2011)
Dark ruby color, small steady beige head. Dark malts, HP sauce and licorice in the nose. Medium to full bodied. Sweetish flaovr with licorice, dark bread, some alcohol in the finish. Kind of caramelly. Nothing wrong with this, quite simple.
