Bottle. Gift from TVT. Cheers Tim. Blurb states do not chill. This is cold as you like. Probably 2 degrees. It’s a warm evening, and I’ve just been round the parents for dinner. I need a cold, big boost beer! Clear, ruby red. Messy, sticky, tan head. Coffee. Chocolate. Light char. Lactic sweetness. Hazelnuts. Vine fruits. The full kit. Smells fantastic. Taste is vinous dry. Rich sweetness. Palate is smooth, slightly boozy and fruity chewy. Very drinkable. The ABV is present, but doesn’t dominate. More chocolatey vine fruit on the finish. Cut to the chase. This is lovely.

Bottle. Almost black with medium beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, little liquorice and hop. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, little liquorice, medium sweet and medium bitter.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein sehr dunkelbraunes Bier mit schöner bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr röstmalzig, schokoladig, Kaffee, dunkle Früchte. Geschmack sehr röstmalzig schokoladig, Kaffee, dunkle überreife Früchte, minimal säuerlich.

Bottle and cask. Dark brown body with a thick beige head. Excellent lacing. Aroma is surprisingly light and fruity - vanilla, blackcurrant and brambles - with dark chocolate, toffee, wood and treacle. Flavour of Black Jack sweets, treacle, earth, smoke and dark fruits. Very drinkable for its strength. Medium to full body with a slick, oily mouthfeel. Light carbonation. An astounding, complex beer; it’s so easy to drink for the strength. One of Scotland‘s finest. A real treat on cask.

Vintage 2011. No sadzilem ze przy tym mocnym porterze nie zrobi sie obfita piana, byla co mnie zadowolilo. Kolor intensywnie ciemny, tzn czarny tylko z lekka i malenka poswiata rubinowa. Gestosc niezla. Zapach suszone sliwki i sherry. W smaku tresciwe i rozgrzewajace, lekkie cieplo w koncowce, ktora jest dloga i przyjemna. Porter srednio palony moze tylko finisz taki odczuwalny, ale ogolnie slodkawe i nieco winne. Ciekawe jak by smakowalo jeszcze bardziej starsze. Temperatura serwowania zalecana miedzy 12, a 14 stopni i tak zrobilem.

Bottled. Clear dark mahogany colour, small head. Prunes and licorice. Mid dry with full body and dense mouthfeel. Licorice and saké, grainy with notes of dates. Peppery finish. Elegant and complex. Really good!

Bottle @ Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig ’13. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate bitter caramel finish.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013. Chesnut dark brown colour. Some sweetness in the aroma with caramel and some fussels. Nutty malt with some roast. Slightly sweet.
