330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, dark amber colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of orange, malty background with hints of caramel, raisin. Taste is sweet-ish bready malty, a touch of honey and baked banana, caramel, raisin, fruity hoppy counterpart with notes of orange and moderate hop bitterness, interludes of pear; oily texture, minimally sticky palate. Sadly the whole Oldskool Hopfen Weisse-series is short on a spicy yeast profile worthy of mention; in a way it’s rather an experimental series on the quality characteristics of different hops concerning their ability to cover buttery or phenolic off-flavours. Nevertheless some nice effects of fruity coexistence resulted from this permutation.

Bottle at home. Clear amber with barely any head. Overripe banana, lots of caramel, brown bread, cloves, bitter vegetables, very grassy, rotten grains. Medium sweet with medium bitterness that is only noticable in the long lasting finish and goes on to become quite metallic. Medium bodied with slick feel and barely any carbonation. Big dissapointment, I liked other Oldskool beers, but this is messy.

0.33 l bottle from De Bierkoning (#53), bottled in May 2015 (five months old). Hazy, luscious reddish orange with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, tan head. Faint, sweetish-fruity aroma of mango, pear, banana and honey with shy hints of booze. Sweetish-fruity taste of mango, banana, honey and pear, followed by a short, slightly bitter and also light alcoholic finish. Medium to full body, very creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Faint hop aroma, alcohol clearly noticeable, undercarbonated. Overall a bit unround and thus somewhat disappointing.
