Cask at PoW Beer Festival. Slightly cloudy opaque chestnut brown. Thin frothy off-white head. Aroma has caramel with a nuttiness and burnt edge. Flavourwise it is punchy - herbal, berries, resinous iver grains and burnt caramel. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Decent.

330ml bottle bought at Beermoth. Medium sized, beige, bubbly head over a next-to-clear brown coloured body. Crocheted lacing. Rather subdued smell of brown malts, dry. Taste of nuts, caramel, earth and a backdrop of herbal hops. Mid-dry roasted malty end, mid-sweet. Medium bodied. Well pleasing. (Enjoyed on our hotel room in Rochdale 05.05.2018).

2016 catch up - Bottle at home - Nice and very well made brown ale. Smooth, plenty of malt and a good biscuit flavour. And a definite hint of pleasant caramel too.
