Our collaboration with Beavertown Brewery. This is a light, clean, crisp saison with a subtle honey and spice note. With a delicate fresh aroma this is a very refreshing saison.

330ml bottle from Appellation Wines, shared with jeevan. Pours clear amber, thin white head. Aromas of saison yeast, white pepper, citrus. Not picking up much of either named ingredient. Maybe some fig on the taste, but no honey. More yeast. Good.

Bottle thanks to Nihtila. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - lemon orange and light spice. Taste - similar. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly balanced finish. Overall - solid.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - golden with a slight haze and a nice head. Nose - figs and white pepper. Maybe some pineapple. Taste - fig rolls with some mince pies in there too. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a long finish which is off dry despite the style. Overall - an interesting interpretation of the saison style. A sweeter version of something that I’d expect to be dry. Good.

Juicy figs, honey sweetness creeping in at the end. Lacks a bit of typical saison character, but a lovely beer nonetheless.

Hazy yellow beer with very little head and a bitter, fruity aroma (which may be the fig.) If it is then I guess that’s the fruit I’m getting in the flavour as well. I can definitely pick out the honey in an otherwise bready, hoppy-tasting beer. I should probably have chilled it a bit more but it’s quite crisp and refreshing even given relatively rich, fruity flavours.

Appearance: Hazy golden color with a big white head.
Aroma: Honey, yeast (not pleasant Belgian like other saison) and mild citric.
Palate: Medium (+) body. Tad sweet and a bit rich carbonation. Oily texture.
Taste: Honey, to much yeast, fruity and mild citric.
Overall impression: To high carbonation and an unpleasant unfinished yeast profile destroyed this one.
Personal stats: Bottle from Berlin Bier Shop in Berlin, Germany

Floral yeasty aroma, hints of honey, pollen, dusty white pepper, honeydew melon, fig, mild mustard. Taste is dry and minimally herbal hoppy, spicy yeasty, hints of honey, honeydew melon, fig, subtle fruity sweetness overall, a touch of mild mustard, tarragon; lively carbonation.
