Pours a clear reddish brown colour with a small off white head that settled to a thin film. Aroma is sour roasted malts and a hint of vegetable. Not a lot of sweetness, roasted malt flavours with some bitter chocolate and vegetable flavours. Not great.

Bottle from Bernie’s off-licence. Poured very dark brown with a small tan coloured head. Aroma is lightly roasted, with light chocolate, and malt. Medium sweetness and bitterness. Medium body, some slickness to texture. Dry, nutty, bitter chocolate finish. A nice mild.

At GBBF. Dark mild with thick, creamy, light beige head and deep brownish bronze colour. Aroma has pleasant notes of smokiness, toast, dried prunes and bayleaf. Litterally mild in the mouth, soft and light on the tongue as usual in this style, dried fruits, toasted malts with even a roasted accent in the finish, smoky touch and drying peppery hops. More characterful than is often the case in this particular style.
