Bottle. 1984 vintage. Light hazy brown liquid with small off-white head. Aroma of raw sugar, port wine, toffee and some sweet alcohol. Taste is dry and light bitter with a very light note of raw sugar. Extremely watery. Medium bodied with very low carbonation. Smells great but totally falls apart in taste. Too old.

Clear pale amber colour, good foamy white head, disappears slowly. Sweet malty aroma, caramel, bread, some red frui. Medium sweet and light bitter taste, spicy notes, medium body, creamy texture, bit more dry bitterness in aftertaste, okay.

25cl Bottle in Brugge. Clear amber colour, white head. Aroma of a typical Speciale Belge, amber malts, caramel, light nutty, light spicy. Flavour is medium-sweet, malts, caramel, nuts, light spicy, decent bitter finish, hint of toast. Light-bodied. Nothing off, but this is a style I find extremely boring, so no high marks here.

5/II/2012 - 33cl bottle early 80s vintage @ vintage tasting Brugs Bierfestival - BB: n/a (2012-93) Thanks to Thierry for the sample!
Clear amber coloured beer, big off-white head, still stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: port, walnuts, mildew, little sweet, pepper. MF: still carbon, light to medium body. Taste: card board, cork, some port, watery, some caramel, toast. Aftertaste: watery, slight port note, walnuts. Note: yes, I'm aware it's a +- 30 years old vintage, but my guess it's as a good as any bottle to rate in this case. :p

Bottled. An amber beer with a huge lingering yellowish head. The aroma has notes of hops and straw on a lightly malty background. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel. Thanks yespr for sharing.
