Pours deep amber into a snifter. Offwhite head recedes to hug rim. Cinnamon and ginger aromas. Quite spicy from front to back -- you can taste everything described on the label: cinnamon, ginger, cardamon, cloves...dry lasting spice finish.

Bottle from Marcus as Peculiar Yule. Very dark brown color with a multifinger finely bubbled tan head. Smells like evergreen juniper boughs accompanied by spices. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Very juniper to me. There’s some chocolate. There’s a lot of herb and spice. Whew. Anchor’s Our Special Ale has competition. Make this one the last beer of the evening.

aroma is spices, cristmas style, red berries, citrus peel, nelliker, licorice. appears almost black, red if you shine light through it. yellow thick head. flavor is licorice, christmas spices, very slight roasted stuff, spicy aftertaste. palate is a bit watery. overall good brew nevertheless.

A rather vigorous pour yields a small tan head atop this dark ruby beer - aromas of roasted nuts, gingerbread (and other spiced Christmas cookies), slight vegetal qualities, dried herbs and flowers, and some earthy cherry skin notes - spices burst on the palate up front (clove, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg), followed by medium sweet flavors of dried cherries and raisins - mild hop bitterness compliments a peppery/spicy character that develops late - lingering cardamom, and interesting hints of dried flowers (lavender, mostly) - some might call this over spiced, but I eat indian food all the time, so I’m a fan of spices - a delicious and original Christmas beer.

50 cL bottle. Pours brown and slight reddish hazy. Head is dense light brown head. Soapy ginger aroma. Mild liqourice base to a ginger flavour on top. Ginger dominantly and with a mild cardemomme note. Ends the same way as the ginger remains dominant. To heavy on the ginger but otherwise not bad, but me and ginger in beer is a no-match.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a cloudy dark brown with a vague tint of orange and an off-white head that leaves quite some lacewórk. The aroma is spicy with ginger - and perhaps mint - sticking out. Body is medium with some roasted and perhaps even a little burned malts. Again plenty of spices, ginger and something reminding me of cola nut! Some bitterness from both hops and malts rounds this eccentric brew off. I have a hard time finding out if I really dig this, but one thing is for certain, it’s a beer that lives up to its name: "Weird Christmas". 080807

Bottle, 6.5%, batch #186. Ginger aroma, metal, coriander and sweet caramel. Almost black colour. Small, fizzy, unstable light brown head. The flavour has plenty coriander, some roasted notes, cream and vanilla. Good balance between pepper and sweetness. Roasted malt bitterness in the finish. Quite spicy, but still balanced. Nice creamy carbonation, medium mouthfeel. Gets quite muddy at the bottom, but the flavour stays good.

Bottle. Nice tan head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are filled with lots of christmas spices. It actually tastes and smells a bit like "Fernet Branca".

Bottle. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Dark amber colour. Moderate malty and heavy hoppy aroma with powerfull spicey and licorice notes. Moderate bitter flavor. Long moderate bitter finish. Very spicey. Creamy palate. Fantastic beer, thank you Yngwie for bringing this to Denmark, I hope to see you soon.....
