You’ve struck Black Gold and you won’t be disappointed with this rich and smooth liquid. Not too bitter and just the right amount of sweetness.

A beer that lives up to its name, SIBA UK Supreme Overall Bottled Beer Champion for 2013!

This wholesome stout has a rich dark colour and nutty roast flavour. No less than four colours of malt make up the grist! A smooth sweetness leads to a dry finish and a satisfying after taste.

Bottle passed onto me by Craig, cheers mate. I drank this at Cropredy Festival 2008 Pours black with a beige head. Some streaky liquorice, dark chocolate hit me first. This is an enjoyable beer but at times I found this just a little thin and watery.

Bottle at YNWA, Kolding. Black, clear-looking beer with a nice beige head. Roasted malt, chocolate, some rauchbier-like smoke and mocha in the aroma. The flavor is smoked too, sure on the malty side, some roasted malt, and even a little fruityness. The finish is almost missing, meaning it’s weak, with roasted malt, chocolate and sweetness. Medium body. Sure a quaffable beer, easy to down, but if it weren’t for the smoke, it would be just another stout. (080229)
