Go all in with Diceman jet black silky smooth stout. A bold combination of dark malts creates a smoky aroma of toffee & plums and a warming flavour of liquorice and dried fruits with an alluring cocoa sweetness and a bitter coffee finish. An odds on favourite.

Very dark but almost clear brown beer, thick off-white head. Light malty aroma. Flavour has toasty malt, anise, a touch of fruit but not much, a little chocolate. This is drinkable enough but it's a bit thin. When you look at what other more traditional brewers like Black Sheep have been trying to do with stouts and porters recently this just seems a bit meh.

500ml bottle. Opaque, quasi black colour with weak ruby shimmer and small to average, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Slightly roasty, dark malty aroma with a chocolately touch, hints of cocoa, a touch of rye bread, pumpernickel, unspecific fruity overtones, a touch of pear at best. Taste is dry, slightly roasty dark malty, hints of cocoa, chocolate, a touch of rye bread, pumpernickel, whiffs of mocha, a minimally ashy, smoky touch, weak fruity hints of green pear, green apple, a minimally metallic hoppy touch as well. Watery texture, smooth and soft, but also slight dry palate, medium, minimally prickly carbonation. Somehow not fully stout-ish, more a Dunkel in parts - OK.

Bottled 500ml (KSM Kampus)
Dark brown colour, small beige head. Light ash and licorice in the nose. Light-bodied, watery. Light ashy toastyness and dark fruits, some licorice. Way too watery for being 5%, otherwise tolerable.

Bottle: Deep (ruby-) amber coloured, small persistent off-white head, traces of licorice and - weaker - of freshly ground coffee in the mild bitter-sweet roasty nose; mild to moderate sweet-bitter flavour accompanied - as usual - by a delicate acidity, light to medium bodied, not overly soft; slightly lingering sourish-roasty and mildly fruity finish. Sigh! Drinkable...
