Off-white head, quite big, amber body. Caramel, nuts, barley, alcohol on the nose. Taste is a soothing mix of barley and caramel with a dry and spicy alcohol finish.

Gusher. Pours dark amber, approaching copper with a large off-white head leaving nice lacing.Nose shows a fair amount of caramel and butterscotch followed by some oxidised port notes with soft grassy hops and spicy alcohol showing later. Very enticing.Flavours include similar malty notes before being overtaken by a plain, flat, chalky character, merging into a somewhat caustic finish dried out the by the high alcohol.Carbonation is too high, only further deteriorating that dry finish.

First of eight brews a friend brought back from Europe. The pour results in a big fluffy-foam tanned head. The retention is very long and the colour is orange-amber. Lacing is uneven, but present. The aroma is mostly fruity with strong hop. Starts with a sweet taste and finishes with a hoppy bitterness. The aftertaste left is of red apples. Slight tart mouthfeel. Definitely worth a try... if you can put your hand on it.

Pours amber with a thick cream head. Fabulous-looking beer (some people are clearly using the appearance rating to adjust their scores - or "blind" doesn’t mean either of the things I thought). Deep toffee aroma with prunes, figs and white pepper. Taste is sweet and at first delicate. Light touches of dark molasses-like sugars. Macerated cherries. Carbonated mouthfeel, but still rich and pretty heavy. Dry finish with a little sour cherry and alcohol hotness. Reminds me of various fortified wines - lovely but a little po-faced.

not what i expected it to be, i think i was thinking more of a farmhouse ale or saison, but this is so well balanced, nice hio kick on the front of the tongue, with a malty sweetness that goes down so easy. really interesting and complex beer, HUGE white head that took at least 5 minutes to dissapate enough for me to take a sip. very interesting to say the least.

330mL bottle, pours a cloudy amber with a huge beige head. Sweet aroma of dark fruits, caramel malt and yeast. Flavour follows suit, with a lingering sourness, dryness and yeasty taste. Nice beer.

33cl Bottle from a gift pack. Clear reddish amber colour, thick white head. Aroma of candy, malts and caramel, some alcohol. Flavour is spicy, alcoholic, fruity, candy, some roasted malts, drying bitter alcohol warming finish. Medium bodied, quite a lot of carbonation. Tasty, but not quite to my taste.
