The Baroque Dark matures in the rock cellar for up to six weeks, developing its inimitable taste. Bottle from the corte ingles in Sol. Nose is cocoa, bread, nice dark smells. Palate is a bit metallic, but otherwise nice bready and toasty. Decent.

50 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Trinkgut, Kleve. Reddish brown with a light beige head. Lightly roasted malts with some nuttiness in the aroma. Taste is sweet with some earthen tones. Great complex mature dunkel.

Bottle from an Edeka in Rothenburg. Pours hazy dark brown with a lasting, thin, foamy, off-white head; little lacing. Inviting aroma of ash, tobacco, coffee roast, fondant, toasted brown bread, burnt caramel, raisin, chocolate powder. Medium malty sweet onset, quite bready, some chocolate & caramel; light roasted bitter middle with toast & mocha. Dryish, toasty finish, faintly herbal hoppy, caramelly too, lingering ash. Medium body, slick/creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Great Dunkel, very much recommended.

0.5 l bottle from local 'trinkgut', bottled in May 2018. Clear, deep reddish amber with a medium large, dense, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, toasted nuts, some chocolate and traces of raisins. Medium sweet, malty, a little roasty taste of caramel, toasted nuts, cocoa, some coffee and hints of raisins, followed by a short, moderately bitter, a little roasty and minimally metallic finish. Medium body, very smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Nice Dunkel, extremely well-balanced and quaffable.

500ml bottle. Pours a clear mahogany-red with a medium, creamy, long lasting, beige head that leaves plenty of lace. Sweet aroma of toasted bready malt, caramel, raisin, earth and nuts. Sweet flavour of grainy caramel malt, toffee, nuts, raisin, brown sugar and ash with a dry, mild bitter, dusty hop finish. Medium body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. A very nice Dunkel.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is brown malt with caramel, toffee, nuts, a bit toasty, and notes of dried fruits. Flavour is medium sweet with a pleasant mild bitterness. Body is medium. Very tasty Dunkel, lots or rich malts with a pleasant bittersweet flavour.

From a 500ml bottle on 14/4/2018. Pours a clear dark amber with a smallish head.The nose features light caramel and toffee. As expected, dark malts are the primary driver flavour wise - caramel and toast - but there's an interesting cherry fruitiness in there as well. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation. A modest but quite enjoyable brew.
