Bottle @ Slovak tasting 09/2019. F: medium, tan, average retention. C: coppery brown, clear. A: rich malty, caramel, toffee, toast. T: medium malty base, toast, caramel, bready, bit fruity, dry on the palate, soft carbonation, ok for the style, enjoyed.

Bottle at home watching new shows. Amber pour. Lots of malt and some dark fruit on nose. Tastes of malt, cherry, plum, and toast. Sweet finish.

Bottle at a tasting. Rather bitter, though mostly malty. Combination chocolaty, roasty, cocoa character. Rather thin body, moderate carbonation. Okay.

Malty aroma, chocolate and raisins. Malty, but not too sweet taste. Coffee, caramel, chocolate, raisins and banana. A bit thinnish. A well made dunkel, clean, fruity and fairly complex. Recommended.

Creamy tan head stayed well on a dark mahogany coloured still body. Oak, wet wood, malt, demerara & treacle aroma. Medium bodied, soft on the tongue with a tickle on the back. Caramel, malt, dark sugar, spices, treacle & roasted tastes with a tangy fruity finish.

Der Geruch ist schön karamalzig lecker. Im Geschmack kommt das weit weniger stark raus. Hier bieten herbe Noten ein schönes Gegengewicht (trotzdem besteht keine Verwechslungsgefahr mit einem Altbier). Eine röstige, fast schon rauchige Note fällt auf. Nicht zu schwer und als Durstlöscher geeignet. Der Alkoholgehalt fällt auch mit nur 4,7 % nicht sehr hoch aus. In Sachen Rezenz ist man im oberen Mittelfeld. Das soll also das beste Dunkle der Welt sein? Für mich nicht. Ich mag es beim Dunklen süßer, schwerer und etwas weicher (also eher wenig Kohlensäure). Trotzdem ein feines Bier, das zeigt, dass es auch für den Genuss eines Dunklen (wie bei einem Hellen / Märzen / Export) keinen ganz besonderen Anlass braucht. Ein Bier das man immer trinken kann, wenn man denn Lust auf ein Bier hat.

Bottle. Malty aroma, roasty notes, light coffee. Malty taste, roasty and coffee notes, light chocolate, light sweet notes, light to medium bitter. Light to medium body, malty roasty bitter sweet finish. Good.
