Say hello to the Bearded Lady, our uncompromisingly big and beautiful Imperial Stout. Born from our Dark Arts recipe, she uses masses of magical malts to deliver deep chocolate, rich coffee and vinous berry flavours, all complemented by a balanced yet subtly spicy hop profile. Powerful, robust, intriguing: yet decadently smooth and sumptuous, the lady demands respect.

330ml bottle takeout from Friends of Ham. Drunk many months later. Woody, coffee aroma. Massive taste of course.. lots of dark fiery malts, chocolate, coffee and bitter spice. Smooth and surprisingly drinkable for the ABV. Lovely stuff.

Pours pitch black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, alcohol, caramel, floral and grassy. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter with a long roasted, warm, chocolate and bitter finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is full.

Bottle. It pours a black body under a dense, finger-thick dark beige head. Roasted malts, coffee, some dark chocolate, licorice and wood on the nose. Alcohol too. It’s full-bodied and lightly warming, with a pleasant carbontion. Quite sweetish. Roasted malts, hoppy pine cones and resins, toffee, molasses and some hoppy bitterness. Lasting finish with alcohol and roasted malts. Pretty nice this one, but it’s a bit unbalanced. 140717

On tap at Brewdog Birmingham, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out notes of cocoa, roasted malt and coffee. Flavour is very rich and bold, with big notes of coffee, cocoa and roasted malt. Thick as fuck, almost fudge-like, with a robust flavour profile - a good hoppy kick to balance things out as well. Excellent stuff.

A black beer with a red shine under a tan head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, and bourbon? The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, bourbon, soy sauce, and dark chocolate, leading to a dry, roasted, and alcoholic finish.
