Say hello to the Bearded Lady, our uncompromisingly big and beautiful Imperial Stout. Born from our Dark Arts recipe, she uses masses of magical malts to deliver deep chocolate, rich coffee and vinous berry flavours, all complemented by a balanced yet subtly spicy hop profile. Powerful, robust, intriguing: yet decadently smooth and sumptuous, the lady demands respect.

Fra fat på Cardinaltreff feb-13: aroma av rådyr, eksklusiv kaffe og sigarkasser. Kveldens nese iflg Alse Bjørn. Rund munnfølelse og laang ettersmak preget av aromaen. Bitterheten balanserer maltsødmen, men litt brent toast i smaken. So smooth, mer glattbarbert enn bearded.

Dark black - brow beer. Tidy tan head. Semi dry palate, quite light. Fine carbonation with a sting. Strong dark malt, bitterish and a little roasty but with a nice toffee undertone. Pretty bitter pine and grapefruit hops, leading to a dry finish. Bitter linger. Good but a little harsh around the edges.

Tap at William IV (Magic Rock takeover) 10/12/12. Pitch black, tan head which retains well. Good lacing ensues. Nose comprises roast malts, coffee notes, a touch farty! Tastes of light soap, roast malt, dark sugars, chocolate, touch of booze though the alcohol is well disguised. Full in body with soft carbonation, smooth on the palate leading to a sweet roasted finish. Would like to revisit again as this wasn’t as good as the previous time I remember having this beer (bottled).

On draft @ HaandBryggeriet Beer festival 2012. A black body with a small beige head. Aroma of sweet, slightly roasted malt, molasses and alcohol. Flavor is sweet, light roasted dark malt, coffee and dark chocolate with warming alcohol. Full body and long aftertaste. Very sweet but nice balance anyway.

Medium beige head. Opaque black body. Roasty chocolatey vanilla aroma with licorice and flower notes. Dry-sweet floral chocolate and vanilla taste with roasty alcohol notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dryish roasty burnt vanilla aftertaste with caramelly grainy notes. Lovely! Harmonic and incredibly vivid flavours. (0.15l sample at Haand 2012.)
