Organic session ale - so basically quite a 'modern' addition to this otherwise very old-fashioned brand, flavoured with five different hop varieties, which are all neatly mentioned on the label and are all very familiar to say the least: Citra, Simcoe, Magnum, Cascade and the classic Alsatian Strisselspalt. Thanks Meeki for the bottle! Huge, foamy, snow white, audibly crackling, large-bubbled, pillowy, plastery-lacing, very firm head on a misty yellow-golden robe with khaki tinge. Aroma of dried lemon zest, minced lemongrass, halfripe pear, raw parsnip, banana peel, lemonbalm, fresh white bread dough, honey, sweetclover, white soap, dried tarragon, tulips, grass, papier maché, stewed leek. Fruity onset, very lively carbonation with notable minerally effects; sweetish but not sweet, hinting at banana ester with side effects of pear and unripe peach; smooth, fluffy body, moving gently over the tongue yet 'pierced' by carbon dioxide remaining very active till the end. Doughy and cereally pale malt core with a thinnish layer of honey-like residual sweetishness on top, rounded and 'pure', until the hops set in, providing retronasal effects of field flowers, freshly cut grass, unripe green melon, jasmin and a dash of lime blossom, along with a persisting, yet nowhere harsh, lasting, only slightly wormwoody bitterness. The rotundity and smoothness of the malts and residual sugars pass through in the end as well, though, keeping balance - note that this beer is nowhere dubbed "IPA" anywhere so do not expect one. Instead, this is a kind of "Belgian IPA" at best, in the unintentional sense - a somewhat below average strength Belgian blonde embellished with five hops, three of which are New World. I have come across many such beers in the past years, strong and less strong like this one, and it can be regarded as an addition to the Belgian beer pool that classic Belgian recipes can now contain New World hops, as a relatively subtle 'injection' of global craft beer culture; haters, however, will say that it is a shame that the citrusiness of Citra and Cascade and the 'onionness' of Simcoe do not shine here as brightly as they should, but as said above, do not expect an IPA here: expect an ordinary 'hoppy' Belgian blonde. You will be far less disappointed.

Lichtgeel bier met mooi stevig schuim. Smaak bitter hoppig en licht kruidig met iets van hooi en gras. Fijn licht bier met prettig mondgevoel.
