‘NEDIPA’ by one of those countless new generation English breweries, this time Larkins in Edenbridge, Kent (south of London); thanks to Craftmember for sharing. Snow white, mousy, slightly irregular, stable, slowly dissipating head, hazy apricot-tinged golden robe. Aroma of ripe mango, honeydew, rambutan, mandarin juice, passionfruit, sweet dough, whipped cream, Paschka cheese spread, Betterfood cookies, touch of dust. Luscious tropical fruitiness in the mouth, mango, passionfruit, sweet melon, lychee and orange, quite stinging and minerally carbonation for the style, bit oily and creamy body; soft and sweet maltiness, Betterfood cookie pulp-like almost, drenched on very aromatic, tropical, sultry hoppiness again reminiscent of mango and passionfruit before anything else; ends continuously juicy and tropically sweet with hardly any bitterness, except perhaps from a touch of warming alcohol. Typical modern NEIPA style beer, the style that conquered the world and now completely dominates the IPA market – alas, because I am growing fed up with this kind of sweet ‘fruit juice’ IPAs, to be honest. Fine within its style, though – so I will not let my personal preference get in the way too much.
