Amber, clear, no head
Aroma of very light fruits, very little on nose
Taste of soft fruits, dab of citrus, light flavours, hint of cereal, quite pleasant
Palate - Medium body, soft bitter. Finish as main flavour, light bitter, dab of cereal in the linger
Overall - Simple pale ale, simple flavours, nothing wrong with it. OK..

Cask @ Montgomery’s Tower, Shrewsbury. Pours brown, little head. Aroma is lightly caramelised malt, vague hop. Taste is biscuit, caramel malt. One dimensional.

Bottle from Appleyards Deli in Shrewsbury. This one is 4.4% so doubtful it’s ESB territory. Appearance - golden amber with a decent head. Nose - caramel biscuits. Taste - quite sickly sweet toffee. Light biscuits but general lack of bittering to balance it. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a finish that is just too sweet. Overall - too sweet to be very drinkable.

It’s all very well to name your beer ’hopping mad’, but if you do so, you should apart from the happy bunny on the label also have some nice hops in the beer. This ESB lacks on hopping, it’s a bit flat and malty, not very bitter.

500ml Bottle: best before Sep 20013, poured into a UK pint sleeve @ home on 8th Dec 2012. Amber, clear and bright, sadly the head left before I had a chance to appreciate it (I hate that). I expected the nose and taste to be Hoppy, but it certainly isn’t overly hopped: the main aroma being caramel and other semi-sweet malts, as is the taste. The Progress hops do give the beer a crisp hop finish but there are not enough of them to take over from the dominant malts within the brew. I like malty beers and I enjoyed this, just thought it was going to be hoppy because of the name.

Bottle.Dark golden colour with small white head.Aroma of sweet carmel and butter light mouthfeels and crispy fresh taste,flavor of hops and slight herbs and light mild finish.

500 ml. bottle. Slightly hazy amber colour with a golden hue. Thin, bubbly off-white head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, resin and citrus hops. Taste is light sweet. Medium body with a soft carbonation. Finishes slightly bitter with resin hops, fruits and heather honey. An enjoyable bitter.
