Gerijpt in wijn barrels van Chateau La Dauphine uit de Bordeaux streek.
Een fris zachtzuur, fruitig Brett bier, klein zoetje in de mond maar met een lange droge afdronk en duidelijke houttonen.

The third installment in this series of (loosely) Flemish red style sours, this one with plums. Bottle at Arendsnest shared by Craftmember, cheers! Very loose, bubbly, coarse, off-white head, open and disappearing completely in a relatively short while; initially clear, later misty bronze-hued copper brown robe. Aroma of indeed 'real' but seemingly dried blue plums, raspberry vinegar, unsugared yoghurt, caramel, vanilla, sherry, gooseberries, leather, damp hay, wet oak wood, redcurrant. Very estery onset, lots of gooseberry tartness with a sweetness of plums built in, raspberry and vague redcurrant aspects, sour cherries even, soft carbo (near to flat) with a supple body, dried by the fruit acidity, the Brett effect and the tannic properties of the oak wood. Ends woody and juicy, with ongoing plum sweetishness mingled with sherry-ish tartness and a leathery Brett accent. Very nice flavour profile overall, not too harshly acidic like many modern 'oud bruin' beers often are, with the Brett adding elegance which might get even better with age; does lack a bit in body and depth to achieve true greatness, perhaps.
