The colour comes from dark roasted barley, balanced with just the right amount of sweet, rolled oatmeal.
We mill both right here in the brewery, giving us complete control over flavour and freshness. The true taste of malt shines through, balanced by the sweetness of pure Scottish heather honey.
Hops: Challenger, Progress
Malts: Pale Ale, Roast, Crystal, Chocolate

500ml bottle bought online from the brewery and drunk at home. It's very dark - bordering on black - with a negligible amount of light getting through. A thin layer of khaki head and lots of lacing. Light aroma of chocolate malt maybe some blackberry, and a light metallic character. Tastes sweet, but not overly so, with some bourbon biscuit and red grape in the long finish. Some sourness in the aftertaste. Medium to heavy carbonation. It's not bad at all.

Near opaque beer, off white head. Light malt aroma. Flavour is toasty barley, some fruit and a little toffee. Quite basic but perfectly drinkable. Nice toasty aftertaste.
