Bottle from Bernie’s, West Midlands. Pours dark chestnut brown with an off white head. Aroma of cocoa and malt. Medium sweetness, moderate roasted bitterness. Light/medium body, slight oily texture. Carbonation a bit over average. Finish has a roasted edge and lasting sweetness.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from Ales by Mail. Pours clear brown with a creamy tan head. The aroma holds toasty brown bread, caramel and burnt leaves. Medium sweet flavor with simple, sugary chocolate, toasted caramel, dates, very mild leafy and earthy bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes sweet with some pleasant dark berry notes, some dusty cocoa, caramel, mellow hop presence. Very simple but also quite drinkable.
