sample from the brewer. Thick creamy white head. Clear black pour. Some woody notes. A decent porter.

Cask at In de Wildeman. Almost black colour, no head. Aroma of ash, burnt liquorice, hard roasted malts, some caramel, wood but not oak, light fruity. Flavour is tarry, liquorice, hard roasted malts, just a hint of oak, especially in the finish, bitter chocolate, firm bitter roasted malty finish with a tiny bit of oak. Light-bodied. Good, but the wood didn’t add any significant difference in taste imho.
