Amager Rye Porter is the result of fruitful cooperation between the best of Danish and American brewing cultures. It’s base is made of hard roasted malts and 16% rye. It adds a fantastic sweetness, and a titillating spicy edge, which, combined with a subtle and balanced acidity, is reminiscent of rye bread. This is not a beer for the weak, we’re pleased with the outcome and hope you will be too.

A very dark brown, almost black beer with a medium and beige head. A yeast particles in the glass. The great aroma with lots of enjoyable chocolate, coffee and some liquirice, rich and dark bread in the background. Complex taste has roastiness, salt liquirice, some chocolate, spicyness of rye combined together with herbal hops that turns the end to personal and aggressive. Medium+ bodied, drinkable. The great and challenging beer, not a cream candy, more like of rough enjoyment.

Draft - Toffee, malty, chocolate and a bit of molasses. Jet black with a thin brown head. Raisin and dark fruit, rye grain and a sweet light bitter finish. There is also a nutty flavour. Very nice and complex with no booze for such a big beer.

Great porter. Strong notes of roasted coffee malt. With a taste of oat or rye. Some fruitiness as well.

Bottle: Poured a dark black color porter with a large light brown foamy head with good retention with some lacing. Aroma of rich black chocolate malt notes with light spicy notes. Taste is also dominated by rich chocolatey malt notes with light dry roasted malt notes and light peppery notes in the finish. Body is quite full with some creamy notes with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Light green hoppy notes are also detectable but very subtle. Enjoyable porter with nice level of drinkability but falling a bit short on the complexity side.
