Back in the day, when I first discovered the joys of craft beer, my Pakeha mate BURB's and I set about making a mess in the kitchen in the pursuit of the noble art of home brewing. Our priorities then were ABV - 1st, VOL - 2nd.
We hadn't quite mastered the dark arts of dry hopping or yeast starters, but our weekly "knock the caps off a few" were a definite hit with our mates. The summer BBQ's were always well stocked with home brew and while the ladies were chatting over West Coast Wine Coolers, the bro's were downing the fruits of our hard labour.
