For me, its all about whanau, iwi, whenua & kai. The gatherings with all the aunties, uncles & cuzzies, out in the kitchen peeling spuds at the marae, collecting kai moana along the coast and catching tuna in the creek.
I grew up in the Far North, spending alot of time in Kawiti and Motatau, this is where my parents grew up and the place our tupuna made home. We were always close to the land & the beach, holidays were spent working on the farm, collecting kai moana or hanging out with the whanau.
