Pour is a black soda with a small fizzy head. Aroma is root beer. Sugary, licorice and various spice. Flavor is again root beer. I can’t really explain it more than that. A lot of hype for this and while exactly like a root beer soda this is pretty spot on even for these gimmicky alcohol "beers".

Bottle shared at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Better Beer Of The Month Club. Cola-brown color. Aroma of caramel, licorice, mouthwash, dentist, herbal spiciness. Very sweet flavor with caramel, vanilla, licorice, tarragon, mouthwash. Sticky mouthfeel. Not my thing.

Bottle into a plastic cup walking around Savannah, 10/16. Looks, smells, and tastes like root beer. Too sweet to be dangerous for me, as I also generally have no interest in drinking large quantities of soda, but if you want something for the soda drinker with alcohol, this would do the trick. Calling it a beer is difficult for me, as is scoring it.

Can: Classic root beer aroma, anise, vanilla, chocolate. Clear cola brown, headless. Very sweet candied licorice, vanilla finish. Very subtle coffee notes detected, particularly on the back end. Full bodied, no alcohol detected, easy carbonation. For hard root beer, this is really tasty, but it is awfully sweet. It’s actually better than most regular root beers. I wouldn’t want more than one or two in a sitting, though. I drink non-alcoholic root beer on occasion so I wouldn’t object to grabbing one of these instead if it is appropriate (not while driving, for example). I seriously question whether this is actually beer and whether it should be considered rateable.

Can. A- Root Beer. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, fizzy minimal head. T- Root Beer. P- Light body, average texture, high carbonation, slightly sweet finish. O- This tastes like root beer. There is no other way to put it. I hate root beer, but this I could see myself drinking. It’s hands down the best root beer I’ve ever tasted and the alcohol is not noticeable at all. Personally, I didn’t want to like it....but I did. I did a lot. This would make a fantastic root beer float.

Bottle, pours just the type of cola color that you’d expect from root beer, head bubbles and all. Smells sweet like root beer and tastes the same. On the sweeter side, sure. Barely a trace of alcohol is detectable. Can’t wait to try one with a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream.

Would like to try the 20% version, heheh. From a bottle is much more palatable than I anticipated. Fail to see feel or taste the beer in this one. Yes, old style draft root beer soda for sure. Reminds me of the old drive up places that sold draft root beer in a mug. This must be rootbeer spiked with ever clear. Easy going pleasant brew. Not sure about the ale ingredient tho; where is it? Yes, way too easy - let’s hope there’s not as much sugar in here as I think there is, but there is. Truly beer that tastes like old school root beer. Wasn’t expecting much so there you have it. Sweet, dangerously sweet - may make yer tummy hurt. Yes, a little distress after just a half bottle. Careful on this one. First I almost gave it a 4 but when my poor tum started hurting I had to change my attitude, you sugary laced bastard. Had to demote it because of its undrinkability - hurt my stomach.

Almost opaque dark brown beer, short lived pale tan head. Strong toot beer nose! Palate is light and mildly crisp. Sweetish malts, some cream and a trace of vanilla. Sarsaparilla and various spices, cooling spices that contrast with the sweetness. Light finish. Spicy linger. Pretty much nails it I reckon, and whilst it is sweet it light and crisp and very drinkable. Great fun!
