Bottle from Belgiuminabox. Pours a very dark brown colour with a reddish hue and a large thick creamy beige head. Nice lacing. Aromas of dry dark fruits, plums, caramel, molasses, brown bread, yeast and hints of chocolate. Taste is the same notes again as the aroma with more pronounced dark fruits, plums and caramel . Medium to full bodied with a fairly smooth mouthfeel and a long dry fruity finish. it’s an excellent dubbel.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Hazy amber/brown body with a beige head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of raisin, prune and fruit cake. Flavour of Christmas pudding, cigar and earth. Medium body with a creamy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A decadent Dubbel.

12 oz bottle poured to a trappist glass. Dark cola pour, a rocky, active fizz, full cover head. A bit of a more modest ABV listed, but this certainly lines up as being the brew in every other way. Dark fruit, plum forward aroma and flavors. Soft metallic touch. Some bready malts to pair. Raisin bread. Comes off as a touch on the boozy side, but it doesnt really seem to bother me here. A hint of a sweet vanilla like note. Vanilla wafer like linger. Has a bit of a bite up front, but it's mostly smooth. Solid Dubbel and a half.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - dark brown to black with orange chinks. Nose - orange zest and honey. Dates and figs. Taste - dates and sweet brown sugar almost demerara. Light leather note. Palate - rich and full bodied. Could be fresher. Overall - good, shame it's a little sweet.
