Bottle from the brewery and drunk at home on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Black dark brown beer with a lasting tan head. Chocolate and lime/lemon on the aroma. But mostly chocolate but lovely chocolate. Again it’s just full and clean and fautless in the mouth. Roasty chocolate flavour. Hoppy chocolate lime. Strange but quite nice at the same time.

330ml bottle from Borough Wines. Pours super dark brown with a myriad of sinister dark flavours encompassing smoky malts, tobacco, faint liquorice, leather and a certain sourness. Nicely blended, intriguing saison.

330ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with average to huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Typical saison aroma, floral yeasty notes, a herbal touch, lovage, cautious dark malty background. Taste is dry, herbal, cautious dark malty background.

Opaque dark brown - black beer with a good pale tan head. Smooth softish palate, semi dry. Soft dark malt cream. Light sourness and dark fruits. Whisper of smoke. Finishes soft and semi dry. Very light citrus at the finish. Nice - quite complex and pretty drinkable.

Bottle, at home, from Sheffield Tap. Deep, chestnut brown. Thin, lasting, tan coloured head. At first, this was all a bit stouty or porterish. (They are real words, by the way). But, that’s not all of it. There is yeasty, herbal bitterness, too. Lots of dried, vinous fruit. Lots of lots of things really. None of which really combine particularly well. My love for all things Partizan remains undiminished, however.
