Bottle thanks to Tom. Pours yellow with medium white head that lasts. The aroma is funk, wood, and fruit. Medium mouth, nice sour apple, light funk, oak with light dry finish, very nice.

Bottle thanks to Tim, pours bright hazy orange with a medium white head. Aroma is part cider and part funky yeast. Flavor is not as funky as the nose leads on but has some Belgian yeast tartness much like the seasonal from this brewery. Nice clean light malt bill with the fruity/yeast tartness finishing nicely. I like it.

Bottle shared at Woodshop 6 (same day as the beer’s release). I was looking forward to this one, but it looks like I will need to rerate it in a few months. I brew quite a few sours at home and some of them (especially the lighter colored ones) suffer from the same problem this one exhibited. Its an off flavor that doesn’t show up in the flat beer, but it shows up for the first few months of bottle conditioning. Its a very odd but distinct crackery/cereally flavor that reminds me of Cheerios. It is all over this beer. If you have bottles I suggest you hold on to them for a couple more months (3 maybe), as this flavor does fade with time.
Anyway, rant over, on to the beer in its current state (numbers are a bit generous at the moment). Pours with a hazed golden hued body with a small white head. Aroma of brett and good funk. Strong grainy, crackery, cheerio smell that I notice in my young bottle conditioned sours. Flavors are young, floral, caramel apple (like the type you get at the fair as a kid). Brett, and Cheerios. Light oak notes, vanilla. Medium fruity ester notes. Lively bubbles and dry. Alcohol was well hidden.
This beer is immature at the moment, and should probably not have been released quite yet. I have full faith that this off flavor will fade in the next few months.
