Bottle at home split with Sarah. I’ve been sitting on this for a while. Nice clear chestnut / red coloured pour with a lasting cream coloured head. Aroma is woody, musty, touch of brett like funk and some choc. Flavour is composed of earthy hay, caramel biscuity malts, musty, touch of apple. Definitely a bit of infections, but it remains an interesting drinkable beer. Paalte is effervescent, touch of sweeetness. Lingering funk and woody grains.

Slight amendment.. bottle (thought it was on tap originally, the old mind’s going!) at the brewery. Brown pour with an off-white head. Raisin, candy sugar and chocolate aroma. Chocolate malt and raisin flavour. Good stuff.

Bottle from the Partizan Brewery on 26 October. Poured a dark ruby colour with a big, dense beige head. Aroma of cinnamon, apples and Belgian yeast. Spicy flavours with notes of prunes and molasses. Finish was hay, cloves and spicy hints. Very good Belgian dubbel; blind tasting, I would have thought it was a native.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a dark murky brown with a thin off white head, low carbonation and lots of broken lace. The aroma is roasted malt with yeast and a little zesty citrus and smoke. The flavour is medium bitter with a sharp acidic medium bodied palate.
