Bottle from Trader Joe's. Pours a clear gold with a finger of white foam that dissipates. Nice peppery hop aromas with bready malt and dried honey notes. Very drinkable on the palate. Great balance with more bread and honey malt notes with pepper and grassy hop notes. Lingering mineral, bread and a lingering peppery hop tingle.

Bready malt and dry hay aroma. Golden yellow with small white head. Moderately sweet bready malt, and mildly bitter dry hay flavor. Good body. Disappointing that there wasn't a collaboration this year but SN still made another top of the line Festbier.

Bottle. Thought I'd had before - very tasty, easy to drink Oktoberfest beer. Yum

At a tasting, thanks, smallish bubbly head, quite clear deep red color, aroma of caramel and honey cake, flavor of dark brown sugar with some dried fruits and a hint of licorice, quite sweet, light bitterness. Fair.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Clear amber with a beige head. Aroma of caramel, toast, a bit of nuts, a bit of oxidation and a faint hoppy note. Sweet flavor, caramelly, a bit toasty, with a bit of stale cardboard and a bitterish finish. Medium-bodied.

Bottle from the brewery shop in Chico. Pours copper with a slight beige head. Aroma is lightly spicy/bready. Med + body. Flavor is pretty malty. Seems to have something like rye spice. Mouth prickle/tingles. Definitely malty, but way drier than seems reasonable. Finishes just mildly sweet, and the thick feel goes well with that. Really much more drinkable than all the relatively tasteless sweet Oktos out there.
