12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, bottled on 7/1/2014. Pours slightly hazy deep copper color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, toast, toffee, brown bread, nuttiness, light roast, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of and complexity of dark/bready malt and earthy/spicy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, toast, toffee, brown bread, nuttiness, light roast, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Slight earthy/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, toffee, brown bread, nuttiness, light roast, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice robustness and complexity of dark/bready malt and earthy/spicy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Very clean on flavors as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and fairly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Oktoberfest style! All around great complexity and robustness of dark/bready malt and earthy/spicy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a semi- dark red almost brown color. A one finger white foamy head rests a top of the beer. Silky thin and smooth soapy lacing clings to the sides of the glass.
The smell takes a really nice roasted nuttiness to blanket a real assault of caramel and toffee malts, wonderfully combined and powerful.
The taste took the previously mentioned flavors and added a nice sweet stickiness that almost appears larger than life in the flavoring. There’s a long sweet roasted nutty caramel/toffee aftertaste with a semi-dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium in body with a decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was good for the style and for me. Such smooth silky graceful nuttiness just rolls over my tongue very nicely.
Overall, I liked this one for me, though it could be just a tad different than some other Oktoberfests this one really plays up a sweet sticky maltiness that is really nice.

12oz bottle. Sierra nail another one. Interesting to see them pull of really solid lagers. Rich caramel and amber malt tones, perfectly balanced by a subtle hop bill. Pretty much all you could ask for in a true to style example. Great.

Draught at Brew Dock. Clear dark brown with a than head, excellent lacing. Aroma is dark berry. Flavour is creamy burnt malt, vanilla with a mild fruit finish. More like a porter than a Marzen but very drinkable.

Draught, Old Bank, Turku. Coppery amber-red body. Slightly off white head. Fresh malty nose, light herbal notes. Balances creamy herbal hop vs. malt taste, bit polleny. Not complex but in every way a good lager.

Draught @ Kahdet Kasvot
Aroma is surprisingly sweet and fruity with toffee. Some hay-like aroma and hints of metal too. Flavour has toffee and caramel. Harsh and hoppy finish with hints of metal. Not your typical märzen, feels a bit like amber ale.
