Because the Badebier is one of the ingredients in this brew I though it would be a good idea to taste them alongside each other. All in all the brew retains the same qualities known from the other Neuzelle Schwarzbier: Its heavily roasted and quite sweet. However compared to the badebeer there seems to be a very sligth vegetable aroma (its either the algae or my mind is making this up). Color os the same red black as the Badebier however the head is less stable. It is quite evident that the beer is thinner, and the lighter body adds some sharp edges to the roasted tasteprofile. It tastes a bit clayish/saltier as well. It lacks the creamy milkchocolate aftertaste of the badebier, but the lightness makes it easier to drink and more refreshing. Did it work? Well I don't know, but since I both drank a Bathbier and this one, some will probably claim that I am both cleaner and living longer now....
