650ml bottle. Jet black colour with small, creamy, diminishing, minimally lacing, beige head. Sweet-ish and roasty, chocolately and nutty, malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, a touch of praline, hazelnut, whiffs of Bourbon. Taste is sweet-ish, chocolately, slightly roasty, dark malty and nutty, hints of dark chocolate, cocoa, Bourbon, hints of hazelnut, praline. Creamy texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, medium to fine, soft carbonation. Not overly complex, smooth, no edges - OK.

Can. A black beer with a tan lacing. Aroma of sweet dark roasted malt, hazelnut, caramel. Taste of sweet dark malt, hazelnut, caramel, vanilla.

Poured from draught into my swing top bottle to enjoy at home, this is the Covid-19 era. Pours a jet black colour and a brown head with little retention. Aroma's: full on roasted malts, ground coffee, with hazelnut upon waltzing the glass. Roast, coffee, hazelnut and dark chocolate retronasal. Flavour is moderate sweet, light hazelnut, light fruit. Above medium bodied. Long finish with roast, moderate bitter. Pretty old school RIS, apart from the adjuncts.

Aroma: Sweet roasted malt with chocolate and nuts. Flavour: Roasted sweet malt with nuts and chocolate. Aftertaste is chocolate sweet and bitter. Colour: Dark brown with an offwhite head.

Bottle from Beerdome. Black with a small brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, hazelnut and bourbon. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish with a little warming alcohol. Oily. 190920

Bottle at home. Pours deep ruby black, nose is roasted, quite nutty, chocolate, vanilla, taste is similar, sweet, chewy, some treacle, cocoa powder.
