This beer is the continuation of something completely new and building on a set foundation at the same time. Its journey starts in the US where we under the Twelve Percent Beer Project brewed two stouts, Fudge and Coffee. We thought we were done there but upon tasting them and thinking about them we realized we had something cool on our hands, something we could play around with. So, the GRAND series was born. GRAND is a series of stouts, a canvas, that we color as we go along. After the distinkt tastes of Fudge, Coffee, Choco Chip and Cake emulating the taste of a ’lussebulle’ was what we wanted to do. And so we did. Expect a lot from this beer and this series. We assure you it’s going to be grand.

WoW! I was in doubt about the saffron impact. It can be very heavy And to much saffron is not really nice But this one had a heavenly match with the dark malt and chocolate Dangerously easy drinkable Balanced sweetness and a fine mellow carbonation level Also dangerously well masked alcohol level [Bottle from Ölstudion Nordstan in Gothenburg, Sweden]

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Black with brief fizzy head. Metallic nose with chocolate mud cake, fudge and saffron. Very sweet with full body and rounded, sticky mouthfeel. Acrid licorice and milky fudge. Saffron lingers in the finish. Viscous and edgy, a challenge even to sip.

Svart med minimalt skum. Smakar inledningsvis rostad malt och saltlakrits. Lakritssmaken hänger med hela vägen och stångas på slutet med smaken av lussebulle. Spretig och jobbig i längden.

Bottle at Pub Anchor. Black with a small head. Sweet with saffron, dough and something that reminded of licorice. The body was full and the finish long. I am not the biggest fan of saffron but this was kind of ok.
