We get round to the dark stuff.
Alternative Currency. Our take on an important style. An East India Porter weighing in at 5.7% abv.

Glorious Porter aromas and flavours of charred toast, breakfast coffee and roasted cacao nibs mingle amongst our signature lush mouth feel, apricot esters and a precise and punchy dry hop of Amarillo and ekuanot."

440ml can purchased from the Offie, Leicester and drunk at home. Dark brown, opaque with a loose khaki head. Big pine in the aroma, some light liqourice, ash. Tastes bitter, not slap-you-across-the-face bitter but nice and earthy. A fleeting suggestion of citrus peel along with more pine in the all-too-short finish. Lightly carbonated. Man I love these beers.

Pours deep dark brown colour with a large and creamy tan head. Good retention. Aroma is roasted malts, earthy hops and soft chocolate malts. Taste is soft liquorice and toffee leading to a medium roasty and hoppy finish. Very, very good.
Next one please!

Leicht muffiger, dunkel malziger Beginn. Mild hopfig, ansteigende Herbe von geringem Level aus, dann zunehmend bitter mit Aromen von Kakao. Süffig, langer malziger Abgang. Gut. 13/12/11/12/11/11

Can at home, from HOTM online, 26/10/20. Just off black with a billowing khaki head formed of frothy bubbles. Nose is big roast, liquorice, light pine, toffee, charr, light cocoa powder. Taste dusty hops, liquorice, dried fruits, roasted bite, pine dusting, charr. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a dusty hop edge. Solid flavoursome porter .... very much on the CDA spectrum !
