Bourbon Barrel-Aged Scotch Ale with Orange Peel & Cherry
Call us old fashioned, but we like to have special brews for special times of the year. We aged our Christmas Ale in bourbon barrels, then added dried cherry and orange peel. This winter warmer invokes classic flavors of the season and is perfect to sip by the fireplace, or put in the cellar for celebrations to come.
Originally brewed by our barrel specialist for our annual Roll Out the Barrel celebration.

Bottle from Livonia Liquor. Pours a clear chestnut brown with a finger of beige head that dissipates. Bourbon focused nose with citrus and cherry aromas with vanilla and oak as it warms. Lovely toffee and citrus with bourbona and vanilla on the palate. Smooth finish with more bourbon and oak that lingers.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear slightly deep amber with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of vanilla, toffee and oak with bourbon and a slight orange peel underlying. Flavor has toffee, sweet grains, bourbon and light orange with a bit of oak backing.
