There is a flavour intensity to our DDH Pales, this one hopped with hand-selected Rakau and Waimea, that we find affirming, yet also mellow and relaxing. A beer not confined by strength and good judgement to the shortest of measures, instead a beer for long and lingering pauses. One such pause during last year’s hop selection trip was the ferry from Picton — hours along the Marlborough Sounds, and across Cook Strait.

Can from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham and shared at Embargo, Phnom Penh. Poured a hazy golden straw colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is grainy malt, light citrus, stone fruits. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a fresh, crisp, light, fruity, light pepper spice, dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Can in Malý/Velký. Thanks Fil I think! Murky yellow body, white head, lovely actually. Fresh aroma, citric, light tropical notes, stone fruit, sweet oaty notes. Smooth, oaty taste, big stonefruit hoppiness. Fantastic mouthfeel, good but not excellent hop profile. Tasty stuff!

Can shared with TdeRoeck. Ugly murky pale yellow color, average sized white head. Aroma is fruit juice. Flavor is fruit juice with a somewhat herbal touch perhaps. Some bitterness and maybe some citrus but overall, hmm, not really my favorite kind of IPA.

21/XII/19 - 44cl can, shared @ home, BB: 29/I/20, fresh-by: 23/XII/19, canned: 3/X/19 - (2019-2171) Thanks to ElManana for getting me the can!

Pretty cloudy blond yellow beer, small creamy bit irregular off-white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: piny, herbal, some rosemary and thyme, little citric, rose petals. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity and citrus notes, little sweet, hoppy but not very bitter, oranges, some tangerines. Aftertaste: soft bitterness, some onions, dank hops, herbal, bit spicy, grassy touch, some tropical fruits, little peppery, sweet touch, mango, very dank and hoppy, bit resinous, nice beer!

440ml can. Crisp, grassy and stingy hoppy with some hay, grapefruit, floral notes, hints of herbal notes and grainy maltiness. Interesting hop profile.

Can. Yellow color. Mango and a hint of grass in the aroma and flavor. Just a touch of herbalness. Not really sweet, but juicy.
