A high fermentation beer, Jenlain Ambrée is one of the first specialty beers in France and is been brewed since 1922. It owes its success to its inimitable taste stronger than all fashions. Its copper color, its aromas of cooked fruit and caramel make it a beer widely recognized for tasting but also a perfect ally for cooking.

Pint can @ Niamey’s 3rd craft beer tasting. Merci Will.

Bottle. Amber colour, clear, frothy head that does not stay long. Aroma is quite much nuts, also toast. Light sweetness. Medium body, medium carbonation. Very good.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper colour with a small off-white head. Heavy carbonated though. Aroma of fudge, bread crust, grass, dried apricot and some lemon. The flavour is similar with more dried fruit and alcohol. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a light bitterness. A balanced and decent ale.

Can with a best before of April 5th, 2018. Pours with an orange-y hue, surprisingly light for an "Ambree". Aromas are grainy, grassy, toasty, mildly hoppy, orange marmalade, a touch of sulfur. Flavors are malty, bitter and grassy. Very lightly estery. Hoppy, almost lightly metallic. Lightly floral. Toasted malt forward, but not sweet. Some alcohol/warming notes. Lively carbonation, medium bodied, pretty dry.

Gyllen klar farge med tynt hvitt skum. Lukter av karamell, malt og noe krydder. Medium fylde og noe søtlig i smak. Mild bitter, fruktig og krydret avslutning.

750 ml corked and cage fed bottle. Pours a hazy Amber color topped by a medium sized fluffy beige head. Faint fruity, yeast aroma. First sip is earthy, crusty bread with rotted citrus hint. Slightly medicinal with sweet tobacco notes. An obvious lack of farmhouse funk, though quite enjoyable nonetheless.
