One of our original brews at the brewery. India Pale Ale is brewed with Best Pale and Wheat malt with a blend of Columbus, Perle and Cascade hops to give a Juicy citrus and bready malt aroma, bittersweet citrus and malt flavour and long, clean bittersweet finish.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Dagan. Clear golden. Hoppy aroma with overripe fruits, a bit weedy. Flavor has a bit of sweetish english malt, a hint of biscuit and nice hoppy bitterness. Medium-bodied.

500ml Bottle: BBD 1st May 2014. Poured into a UK pint sleeve at home on 10th Jan 2014. This is the first beer of a ’random beer tasting evening’ I’m having with myself while the wife is dining with a bunch of other ladies elsewhere. Exceedingly lively, only got about a third of the bottle into the glass on the first pour because the head it produced just kept growing and growing. Below it was a misty, deep old gold coloured body. The huge head left some heavy lacing too. Spicy hop nose with citrus undertones. The beer was refreshing and tasty: bitter and almost sharp on the tongue, the hops ruling the malt contents completely. I’m not fan of golden brews that have a citrus front usually: however this has enough character and depth of spiciness to equal those lemon/lime type flavours and aromas. I thought a peppery taste arrived as it warmed a little too. Most enjoyable.

(Cask at Holborn Whippet, Holborn, London, 19 Nov 2013) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of caramel, citrus, dried apricots and grapefruit. Malty, fruity taste with orange peel, apricots, a touch of caramel, black-currant and a generous citric bitterness. Tasty and well made. Nice one.

Cask at Catford Bridge Tavern, SE London. A golden/amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, fruity aroma. Tastes hoppy, some citrus fruit, slightly bitter and a little thin and lacking in complexity.

Bottle from Sainsburys, Bicester, Oxon. Consumed at home, Sunday 22nd September 2013 Pours hazy gold/orange with a white head. Biscuity malts from the off and a steady if somewhat safe buzzy bitterness and hoppiness. Lightly citrus but nothing leaping out, I was expecting better things from this beer, don’t get me wrong it is very pleasant just not great. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov13. 3.3

500ml bottle from Sainsburys. Deep amber colour, foamy white head leaving some lacing and aroma of tropical fruits, floral citrus, lemon sherbert. Taste is malt caramel, biscuity, earthy with orange rind & some bitterness. Slightly oily mouth feel, light bodied, medium carbonation, dry bitter finish. Quite OK.
