One of our original brews at the brewery. India Pale Ale is brewed with Best Pale and Wheat malt with a blend of Columbus, Perle and Cascade hops to give a Juicy citrus and bready malt aroma, bittersweet citrus and malt flavour and long, clean bittersweet finish.

50cl bottle from the Sainsbury’ s Beer Hunt 2013 range. Hazy amber with a billowing white head; tropical fruit aroma; juicy tropical fruit taste; but hte finish is rather harsh. A good attempt at a US style IPA but lacking finesse.

Bottle at homw from Sainsburies. Aroma is sweet hop resin and pine. later more chalk and slight yeast esters. Light copper in colour with a thin persistent off white head.Flavour is hop forward with midget gems, grassy and some hedgerow. slight metalic taste in the finish. Bitterness lingers. All round it’s pretty tasty Bitterness is pretty heavy handed and it builds up on you.

Pours amber with a small head.Nose shows herbal, earthy and piny hops with some sweet light malt underneath and a touch of bready notes.Acidic flavours, presumably slightly infected, with a soft bretty note as well. Other than that there’s some orange marmalade and biscuity malt.Body feels watery.

A not-desperately-exciting but very drinkable IPA. Nice, sharp zesty citrus, good whack of hop, something a little spiced in there too which really gives it something a little extra so it's not just another run of the mill IPA. Very decent.

Bottle from Connolly’s Wines, Solihull. Poured a slightly murky reddish amber with a broken white head and broken lace. The aroma is rather fruity with a hint of malt, leading to a medium bitter flavour with some smooth mile fruitiness on the palate and mild bitterness in the aftertaste. It’s a rather tasty and refreshing summer beer, but it doesn’t have the dry hopped spicy bitterness of a modern IPA that i’ve grown to love.
