Found, to my utter surprise at Van Erp Dranken in Groningen. Bottle Deep dark brown color, small but steady head. Chocolate, roast and grapes in the aroma. Roastbitter flavor with chocolate. malty, medium bodied. Creamy, velvety mouthfeel. Very likeable and tasty brown ale. Batch nr. 201.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a fairly dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a slow pace. Wafty wisps of lace.
The aroma had some sweet and toasty malts, light roast. Some milk chocolate and caramel and then a light coca cola, I usually get that in their beers, not sure why.
The flavor leans sweet but a sly earthy to semi-spicy bitterness from the hops makes a decent effort to balance. Doesn’t exactly for the most part. Sly coca cola to nutty and caramel aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Sly carbonation. ABV felt fine.
Overall, decent brown ale leaning towards the English style and sticking to the normal quality of Nogne.
