Bottle from Norwegian village supermarket. Slight hazy dark brown with small beige head. Malty at first with roasted nuts, fresh coffee, cocoa, dark caramel and dried fruits. Quite dry and not very sweet with a nice long light bitter finish. Light bodied with lively carbonation. Pretty good stuff.

500 ml bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours fairly crystal clear reddish brown color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toast, brown sugar, dark bread, light nuttiness, light coffee, herbal, light fruitiness, and roast/yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity and balance of dark/roasted malt and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toast, brown sugar, dark bread, light coffee, herbal, light fruitiness, and roast/yeast earthiness. Light earthy/roast bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toast, dark bread, brown sugar, light coffee, light fruitiness, herbal, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity and robustness of dark/roasted malt and light earthy hop flavors; with a good roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly bready/chalky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a nice session Brown ale. Good balance, robustness, and complexity of dark/roasted malt and light earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

0,5L bottle, BB 23.05.2014. Pours brown with huge off white head. The head stays. Aroma is caramel, roast, and dark fruits. Taste is sweet, apples, dark fruits, coffee bitterness, and watery. Finish is short coffee bitter. Overall: after the awful newcastle brown ale and okish thwaites big ben, this feels like a really great brew.

Mørk brun/svart farge med beige skum. Lukter malt, sjokolade og karamell. Noe tynn med maltsmak og en noe bitter avslutning (sjokolade).
