(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 17 May 2013) Dark brown colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with dark rye bread, roasted malt, caramel and cereal. Malty, roasted taste with notes of roasted malt, cereal, dark rye bread, dried fruit and a gentle spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Well balanced and quite tasty. Nice one.

Bottle from an Oslo supermarket. Poured a cloudy medium brown with a frothy off white head. The aroma is dry and dusty leading to a medium bitter, malty, nutty flavour. Not as good as I expected but far from being a bad beer.

Flaske fra batch 857A, delt med Willy: Mørkebrun, lett uklar og fint skum. Deilig aroma av (karamell)malt, nøtter og sjokoladekjeks. Smaken likeså, med et snev av brenthet/bitterhet. Bløt munnfylde men ettersmak.

Smell of mud and chocolate. Muddy dark brown colour eth light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, some coffee. Sweet, slightly bitter.

Wyśmienite piwo. Pierwsze z szerokiego asortymentu tego browaru. Piana gigant jak śnieg na Mont Everest w największą śnieżycę. Niefiltrowane Brown Ale z osadem, Czarne jak smoła. Intensywnie słodowe. Palony słód wyczówa się ekstremalnie mocno, do tego tostowy posmak grilowy. Nuty subtelne gożkiej czekolady. Naturalny dwutlenek węgla. Super smaczne. Polecam

Supermarket in Oslo: Pours murky brown. Has an aroma of slightly roasted malts and a hop or two. Taste is pretzels, hops, and roasted malts. This is a good, sessionable brown ale.

500 ml bottle, 4.8.2012, batch # 744. Brown, lightly tanned head. Aroma of roasted barley, nuts and caramel. Also some coffee notes. Taste is a good sweetness. Finish is quite hoppy and bitter, but with caramel malts lurking behind. Lacks the impressive body of the stronger Nøgne Ø beers, otherwise a good example of the style. Liked it.
